VARIANTS are uniquely designed reading cocoons which create an intimate enclosure allowing readers to remain tucked away in their own private little universe.

Made from honeycomb cardboard all VARIANTS are computer generated and slightly unique.

As a teenager, Roosegaarde worked and slept in a used bookstore. In a sense, the VARIANTS are his way of recreating the experience of finding intimate security through books.

VARIANTS comprise a series of computer-generated sculptures varying from reading cocoon to high-density bookshelf.
