Space Waste Lab will create the next generation of fireworks with artificial "Shooting Stars". The controlled re-entry of space waste in the atmosphere in collaboration with ESA will serve as both a spectacle and cleans up space waste, without creating the pollution of traditional fireworks.

from 19:00 till 23:00 and Saturday 19 January from 20:00 till 23:00 at Kunstlinie Almere NL, free entrance. Huge lines of light reveal the space waste above your head real-time and the indoor living lab investigates how to upcycle space waste into sustainable products.
Windvogel by Studio Roosegaarde wins the Design Project of the Year. The light-emitting, energy-generating kites also topped the lighting design category at Tate Modern London. The design master jury described the project as "an innovative, emotional and functional design response to the universal dilemma of sustainability, and energy usage in particular".
