SPARK reimagines fireworks for a new era — biodegradable lights drift silently across the night sky. No loud bangs. No frightened dogs. Only wonder. “My dog goes crazy during traditional fireworks,” says artist Daan Roosegaarde. “So I wondered: how can we celebrate differently? That was the beginning of SPARK."

Our paths of glow-in-the-dark rocks are charged by the sun. As night falls, they come alive with a soft, radiant glow — guiding you home.

SPARK illuminates the sky at the Breckenridge International Festival of Arts in Colorado, USA, from August 15 to 17, 2025, 21:30–23:30. This public U.S. premiere features thousands of biodegradable light sparks in a sustainable celebration of art and nature. Free with registration.

SPARK Singapore transformed the Supertrees into a dreamscape of thousands of floating biodegradable lights — a magical celebration of sustainability and wonder, witnessed by 60,000 visitors.

Lectures by Daan Roosegaarde on Prototyping the World of Tomorrow focus on designing an inspiring world—from glowing bike paths to bioluminescent beaches—highlighting the connection between humanity, nature, and a sustainable future.
