Officially announced today: Waterlicht at Fremantle Biennale 2019, Australia. Fremantle Biennale announced ‘Undercurrent 19’, the second edition of the city-wide contemporary art program showcasing experimental site responsive work from established and emerging artists from across the world. Open from November 1st.
This will be the first time Waterlicht will be shown in the Southern Hemisphere, raising awareness for rising water levels and the climate change crisis.

Space Waste Lab will create the next generation of fireworks with artificial "Shooting Stars". The controlled re-entry of space waste in the atmosphere in collaboration with ESA will serve as both a spectacle and cleans up space waste, without creating the pollution of traditional fireworks.

Windvogel by Studio Roosegaarde wins the Design Project of the Year. The light-emitting, energy-generating kites also topped the lighting design category at Tate Modern London. The design master jury described the project as "an innovative, emotional and functional design response to the universal dilemma of sustainability, and energy usage in particular".
