Smog Free Project

SMOG FREE PROJECT is a series of urban innovations led by Daan Roosegaarde to show the beauty of clean air. Roosegaarde creates SMOG FREE RINGS made from the compressed smog particles collected from the SMOG FREE TOWER as a tangible souvenir. By sharing the SMOG FREE RING you donate 1000 m3 of clean air to the city.

SMOG FREE RING is now part of the permanent art collection of the Utah Museum of Fine Arts USA, Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, National Museum Zurich and The Biosphere Environment Museum in Montreal.

Winner of the Ethics Ethical Award 2019.

Smog Free Ring

The SMOG FREE RING is made from smog collected by the SMOG FREE TOWER in Beijing or Rotterdam. By sharing a SMOG FREE RING you donate a 1000 m3 of clean air. It is used as engagement and wedding ring by couples all over the world. The kickstarter campaign sales of the SMOG FREE RING was used to develop more smog free solutions. The SMOG FREE RING is now part of permanent art collections in musea, so no longer available as individual purchase. New SMOG FREE RINGS will be launched when a new SMOG FREE TOWER campaign is started in the nearby future.
